Paris Saint-Germain demolished Real Madrid with a sensational first-half display in their Club World Cup semi-final at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday night.

The French giants dominated the early stages, overwhelming Los Blancos with pace and precision. It marked the most chaotic and humbling opening half of the Xabi Alonso era.
How did PSG score three in the first half?
Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring with a composed close-range finish after Ousmane Dembele dispossessed Raul Asencio inside the box with quick anticipation.
Moments later, PSG struck again. Antonio Rudiger carelessly lost the ball to Dembele, who once more showcased his sharpness.
Bursting into open space, the French winger coolly slotted the ball past Thibaut Courtois to make it 2-0.
Before the clock could hit the 30-minute mark, Ruiz doubled his tally, capping off a five-pass sequence that started deep in PSG territory and ended with the Spanish midfielder coolly finishing a sweeping move.

Real Madrid concede three early goals for first time in 22 years
Real Madrid suffered a rare and painful collapse as they conceded three goals in the opening 25 minutes of a match for the first time since November 9, 2003, per Telegrafi.
On that occasion, they were torn apart by Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, falling behind 3-0 by the 14th minute through goals from Dario Silva, Dani Alves, and an Ivan Helguera own goal.
This kind of early setback has plagued Real 22 times in their history — and they’ve only come back to win once.
That lone comeback came in the 1967/68 season, when they also faced Sevilla and staged a stunning 4-3 turnaround.
PSG set up Club World Cup final with Chelsea
Real Madrid's night went from bad to worse as Gonçalo Ramos added a late goal to seal an emphatic victory for Paris Saint-Germain, capping off a dominant display from the European champions.
The win comes just weeks after PSG’s commanding 5-0 triumph over Inter Milan to claim their continental crown.
With the FIFA Club World Cup final set for Sunday, PSG will now face Chelsea in a highly anticipated showdown.
For Real Madrid, it was a humbling evening that shifts their focus back to the La Liga title race and another deep Champions League run.
